Lucknow, June 11: A 66 member students delegation of City Montessori School left for USA today on their educational excursion and perform yoga at UNO Headquarters, New York, in presence of the Secretary General of the UNO, Mr Antonio Guterras. Before their departure, CMS students and teachers led by CMS President, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon met with the Defence Minister of India, Shri Rajnath Singh at his residence in New Delhi to get his blessings and good wishes.

While blessing the students, Defence Minister, Shri Rajnath Singh said that I extend my warm wishes to all the students and teachers going to New York to spread the culture of Vasudhaiv Kutumbkam and learn good things there. I hope good things that you learn there will be beneficial for you. He further said that this tour of CMS students will not only let the world understand the importance of yoga but the students will also learn from it. CMS students and teachers were beaming after being blessed by the Defence Minister. CMS President, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon expressed her gratitude to Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh for sparing his valuable time for the children. She happily said it is a moment of great pride for all Lucknowites. We are looking forward for the successful presentation of Yoga by our students at the UN Headquarters, she said.

Chief Public Relations Officer of CMS, Shri Hari Om Sharma informed that CMS students have been spreading this cultural heritage of India since the proclamation of International Yoga Day, by doing yoga every year at the United Nations Headquarters. This effort of CMS students has received profound acclamation from the people of India.

Mr Sharma informed that during their educational excursion to USA, the CMS team will take a learning tour to J.F. Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral, Florida and also see the White House, Red Cross Head Office, Washington DC and other historical places thereof apart from performing yoga at UNO. The delegation will return to India on 23 June.
